Temp Jobs by Forest

The Forest Service hires for temporary and seasonal positions in 4 hiring events a year, approximately 4-8 months before their expected start date. Seasonal positions are typically posted on USAJOBS at the following times: 

  • For late Fall/early Winter start dates, job applications are typically open in late June-early July.
  • For late Winter/early Spring start dates, job applications are typically open in August.
  • For late Spring/early Summer start dates, job applications are typically open in late October-early November.
  • For late Summer/early Fall start dates, job applications are typically open in late January-early February.
